DANGER ELECTRICAL SHOCK
Pinball machines have high voltages which can cause DANGER TO LIFE AND LIMB. TURN POWER OFF and UNPLUG PINBALL MACHINE prior to installation. Pinball machines are high voltage and can cause electrical shock.
SAFETY GLASSES are also recommended while working with or installing pinball parts.
Please follow these safety instructions as well as all installation instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the pinball machine, accessory or other parts. Please see our Disclaimer for associated risks and responsibilities (Section 13 in our Terms of Service) prior to installation.
Images included in these instructions are of an installed prototype and may vary from your product slightly.
If you have questions or concerns regarding the proper installation of this part, please contact us for assistance.
When removing screws from the playfield, reinstall by first turning them counter-clockwise to match the original groove in order to respect the integrity of the playfield wood.
Please note that these install instructions are currently being written and thusly may have some kinks in them.
- Turn off game. Remove glass from game.
- If you have gameblades/ art blades, Place the Pinball Cabinet Assembly Protectors on each side of the machine.
- Purchasing Playfield Jacks from Marco Specialties for this installation is highly recommended. You may see them in the background of images in these instructions.
- Pull the playfield out to access the back left of the playfield. The jacks make this far more accessible.
- Identify plastic -25 in the back left corner. Remove the 2 screws holding it on. Remove the 2 hex spacers.
- Identify plastic -22 under Godzilla. Remove the nut and the screw holding it in. Cut the zip-tie around Lizzie's tail. Remove Godzilla and the plastic from the machine.
- Remove the 2 screws holding Godzilla onto plastic -22.
- Remove plastic -23 by removing the small black screw as well as the screw holding the spotlight on. Don't worry about freeing the spotlight screw from the assembly, just ensure that the wires will hold it in for a few minutes. Pull out the ball blocking plastic and be sure to check out this neat hidden easter egg. Once the plastic is freed, remove the hex post that supported the spotlight.
- We will begin attaching Godzilla to the mod now. Identify the hole and the slot in the top of the Godzilla platform. We provided an expanded slot for any aftermarket Godzillas you may have purchased. We will not provide support for your aftermarket toy. The only support we can provide is for the stock Godzilla toy. We will start with the single hole, not the slot. Using the screws that were removed from Godzilla's feet start reattaching Godzilla. You will need to flex the hinge out of the way to make some space for your tool. Once the first screw is installed, install the second screw into the slot.
- Now that we have Godzilla attached to his platform, we will attach the platform to plastic -22. Place the provided nuts into the shaped pockets on the top side of the platform. Push the provided 1/4" screws through the stock plastic and then the platform.
- We will return Godzilla to the playfield now. Place plastic -22 back to where you found it. There are 2 screw studs we were looking for. The screw studs from steps 5 and 6. The stud that you pulled the nut from is a tight fit but it will go on. Once the plastic is settled, replace the hex on the rear stud. Then replace the nut in the front. I know the nut is difficult to get to. I used a small spanner and came in from behind Godzilla. It was a quarter turn at a time. I know it's tedious but I believe in you! Do not replace the screw on the edge of the playfield, we need to install one more thing there.
- Now that Godzilla is back in the machine, we will install the motor to drive his function. First, look at the motor assembly and be sure that the arm on the axle is as horizontal as possible. Please refer to the picture for alignment.
- The playfield jacks are going to come in handy here. To get the driving axle under the Godzilla platform, you will need to flex the hinge as you place the motor assembly. Place the motor assembly along the side of the playfield. There is another screw stud we are looking for here. It's from the spotlight hex post.
- When the driving axle is under Godzilla and the mount has been slotted over the hex post stud, we can replace the spotlight hex post. Reinstall the bolt along the side of the playfield.
- Fish the motor cable through the hole that the spotlight wiring comes out of. There are 2 layers that we have to get through. The acrylic plastic and the actual playfield.
- Now rebuild the spotlight and acrylic. Using the small black screw, attach the stock acrylic to the printed mod. Then replace the spotlight to the hex post.
- It's time to lift the playfield and get into the spaghetti. First connect the motor cable to the Com Board assembly. The following images do not have the decal on the board assembly. Your assembly should have the decal on it. If it does not, please contact us through our support portal. When plugging in, please respect polarity as you can plug it in backwards.
- We are going to mount the Com Board to the stock board that controls the Drake building. The Com Board assembly will sit at an angle due to the length of the motor cable.
- We will install the light sensor to the "Attack Bridge" shot now. Identify the PCB for the lights south of the bridge and remove 2 screws to allow the board to pivot. Rotate the board counter-clockwise.
- Insert the ILS assembly into the "Attack Bridge" insert. The wiring should be exiting to the right.
- Rotate the board back into position and return the screws.
- We will now get power to the Com Board. The positioning in the following pictures may vary from yours but the process is the same. Grab the "Power In" wires and feed them under the playfield towards the backbox
- Grab the 12v Fused Power Tap - Spike output and plug in the arcade sign, need help with the 12v Fused Power Tap - Spike follow these steps
