DANGER ELECTRICAL SHOCK
Pinball machines have high voltages which can cause DANGER TO LIFE AND LIMB. TURN POWER OFF and UNPLUG PINBALL MACHINE before installation. Pinball machines are high voltage and can cause electrical shock.
SAFETY GLASSES are also recommended while working with or installing pinball parts.
Please follow these safety instructions as well as all installation instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the pinball machine, accessory, or other parts. Please see our Disclaimer for associated risks and responsibilities (Section 13 in our Terms of Service) prior to installation.
Images included in these instructions are of an installed prototype and may vary from your product slightly.
If you have questions or concerns regarding the proper installation of this part, please contact us for assistance.
When removing screws from the playfield, reinstall by first turning them counter-clockwise to match the original groove to respect the integrity of the playfield wood.

Start with grabbing the mount and sign, unplug the sign from the board if needed
Then feed the sign wire through the mount as shown below
Locate where the mount will go in the back left corner of the playfield
Grab a zip-tie and feed it through the mount as shown below
Keeping the sign wire through the mount, feed the sign wire behind the target
Wedge the mount between the two posts highlighted in red dots below, start with the right side of the mount then slide the left side down the left post.
With one hand wrap the left post with the zip-tie and with the needle nose pliers in the other hand grab the zip-tie and feed it through zip-tie's head
Grab another zip-tie and feed it through the sign as shown below, then place the sign's back into the mount first making sure the zip-tie enters the hole on the mount
Use the needle nose pliers to post the zip-tie through the mount and back out the front and then feed the zip-tie's end through the head securing the sign to the mount
Feed the remaining sign wire down to the bottom of the playfield, a combination of pushing and pulling the wire will help feed it through (your wire will be covered with heat shrink)
Grab the board and undo the wires and lift the playfield up
Then grab the sign wires from the bottom left corner, wrap up any excess wire, and zip-tie/twist-tie it
Plug the sign wire back into the board, matching the colors to the label on the board (black on the left side and yellow on the right side)
Zip-tie the board to some wires (make sure it's a bundle of wires, a single wire is not strong enough)
Grab the nut driver and remove these two boards
Optional:
On the left side, one of the inserts is still covered by another board, recommend leaving this on and come back to this step if needed.
You can pick your triggers for the arcade sign spin, from the board there are two light sensors coming off it. You can place those sensors into any insert shown below. To trigger the spin both light sensors need to be lit so we don't recommend putting the sensor in the same column (vertical group) but instead place them horizontally (recommend the middle row shown with a green line). Different lanes have different difficulties and placing the light sensor in a higher (closer to the player when the playfield is down) insert will be easier than a lower insert.
These are the two light sensors
Place them in your desired insert as shown below
Attach the node boards that were previously removed, sandwiching the light sensors into the inserts
Wrap up any excess wire, and zip-tie/twist-tie it down, so they can not get tangled into other components
Grab the "Power In" wires and feed them under the playfield towards the backbox
Grab the 12v Fused Power Tap - Spike output and plug in the arcade sign, need help with the 12v Fused Power Tap - Spike follow these steps

Game Modes:
The Switch is located in the top right
Position | Mode |
0 (left) | Game |
1 (right) | Timer/Random |
Reset / Change Game Modes:
Move the Switch into the desired mode then press the reset button or power down the pinball machine and power it back on. The sign will "wave" to confirm that the reset was successful
Resets are a good troubleshooting step as well if the sign is not functioning properly a quick reset is a great first step.
The reset button is located at the center close to the top, identified with this symbol:
Potentiometer / Change the light-sensitive:
The Potentiometer is located in the top left
The Potentiometer is using the section to allow you to pick 4 different settings
Position |
Environment Light Levels |
Section 1 (light grey / 0-25) | Best for very dark room |
Section 2 (black / 25-50) | Average lit room (Recommended) |
Section 3 (white 50/75) | Bright room |
Section 4 (dark grey 75/100) | Very bright room |
If the sign is set to game mode but goes off at random times try setting the potentiometer to a lower position (1 or 2), the light sensor might be getting too much light giving it a false positive.

Why is the home position a little off-center? OR Can I change/move the home position?
The home position is when the sign stops, it should always be facing the player/front of the machine. There's no way to change the home position and it's based on the servo gearing tolerance, some servos will be closer to facing the player and some will be off a little. The sign's home position shouldn't be past 5-8 degrees off from the sign base.
