When removing screws from the playfield, reinstall by first turning them counter-clockwise to match the original groove in order to respect the integrity of the playfield wood.
- Turn off game. Remove glass from game and set in a safe and secure location.
- If you have gameblades/ art blades, Place the Pinball Cabinet Assembly Protectors on each side of the machine. Next remove the pinballs from the trough. Then lift the playfield into the upright position.
- Locate the Central LED board that lights up Charles Xavier's screen. An image has been provided below showing what the board looks like.
- Disconnect all of the connectors on the board as seen in the image below. Then unscrew the four screws that hold the board into place. Then carefully remove the board and set in a secure location.
- You now have access to the inserts. While you are free to place the inserts however you would like, we recommend the following spots for the gels. An image is below the wall of text that shows the location as well.
- Upper Left: Purple for Gambit
- Upper Middle: Green for Colossus
- Upper Left: Yellow for Wolverine
- Middle Left: Orange for Storm
- Middle Right: Red for Magneto
- Lower Left: Blue for Bishop
- Bottom Middle: Orange for Rouge
- Bottom Right: No gel, but their is an extra orange gel that will be left in the kit. You can use that or use the green one for Xavier and the extra orange one for Colossus.
- The two lower inserts get the remaining red gels as they are for Senator Kelly and Master Mold.
6. Once all of the Gels are set, then the insert should look like the image below. Do note that the gels can cover the screw holes if not placed correctly. You can also cut the gels to a smaller size should you run into issues covering the screw holes.
7. Once you have verified that the gels are in their proper locations, now carefully slide the LED board back into position and screw the screws back into place. Once you have done this, then reconnect the connectors back into place. (Note that the guy who wrote these install instructions didn't follow his own steps and the image below has the upper connector disconnected. So double check to make sure that everything is connected. 😅).
8. Lower the playfield back into the game. If you have the Pinball Cabinet Assembly Protectors on the game, remove them and set them in a secure location. Put the pinballs back into the trough and then slide the glass back onto the game.
9. Install complete! Enjoy the Gel kit. (Note: You may have an extra Orange gel leftover. You can use this gel in any spot that you desire, but we recommend either the X-Mansion insert or the lightning bolt insert in the danger room).
