Translucent Drop Target Troubleshooting

If your translucent drop targets are not returning to the up position there could be one or more issues.

• Wrong version of drop targets: Williams versions differ from Stern versions (see below); confirm your kit has the correct drop targets. Williams targets are used in JJP, CGC and Pinball Brothers Alien at the time of this article.
  
• Opto sensor not painted: for all Stern kits and Alien kits, the opto sensors shipped painted black. If your targets are not painted, they will not work. If the sensor paint has flaked off or otherwise become worn away, they will need to be coated with a black latex paint. 
  • Williams target optos are not painted with the exception of Pinball Brothers Alien kits.
• Broken ledges: the front of the target has a small ledge that holds the target in the up position. If these are broken, the targets will not return to the up position.
