Pinball machines have high voltages which can cause DANGER TO LIFE AND LIMB. TURN POWER OFF and UNPLUG PINBALL MACHINE prior to installation. Pinball machines are high voltage and can cause electrical shock.

When removing screws from the playfield, reinstall by first turning them counter-clockwise to match the original groove in order to respect the integrity of the playfield wood.

PixlWav Expression Speaker Light Kit Box

BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH INSTALLATION, UNPLUG POWER CORD FROM GAME.
The PixlWav System is designed to operate on 5V DC ONLY. Do not attempt to connect any components of this kit to another voltage; doing so is a misuse of the system which will cause damage permanent damage to every system component. Misuse will not be covered by Mezel Mods or PinWoofer.
This product requires the use of the PixlWav Power & Control system. Do not use alternative power supply.
Expression Lighting Kit Installation assumes previous installation of the PixlWav Expression Speaker Light Kits. Installation of the Cabinet Lighting Expansion Kit begins assuming this step has been completed.
Power and Control (Super & Deluxe Kits only)
Power and Control Sets & Video-- Click to Expand
- Gather power adapter, hub board and 3M adhesive included in either the PixlWav Speaker Light Kit Box or the Power & Control Parts (with red dot).
- Open backbox, locate Power Distribution board cover and remove.
- Locate Dollar Bill validator connection (note your game may include an orange 'dummy' plug; remove this plug). Attach the PixlWav Power to the dollar bill validator connection.
- Attach the HUB board in the backbox using the existing hardware next to the Power Distribution box.
- Plug the 5v DC power cable from the PixlWav Power to the PixlWav Hub Input jack (labeled 3 on Hub Connector Key).
- Ensure that the Hub is set to ETH by using the switch (labeled 2 on Hub Connector Key).
Expansion Wiring (YELLOW)
Expansion Wiring Installation Steps & Video-- Click to Expand
- Gather the YELLOW parts. Utilize zip ties provided to tie the Ethernet Cable and the DC Power Extension cable together.
- Attach the Ethernet Cable to the Backbox PixlWav Hub (labeled 5 on Hub Connector Key).
- Attach the DC Power Extension Cable to the previously installed PixlWav Hub (labeled 6 on Hub Connector Key).
- Make sure Ethernet fully clips into place. Tighten Hub mount as necessary.
- Feed joined cables into the cabinet
- Remove glass and lift playfield onto service rails. Determine desired mounting point for second Hub board (cabinet back or base). Utilize 3M tape provided to mount holding in place firmly to activate adhesive.
- Attach Ethernet to cabinet PixlWav Hub (labeled 5 on Hub Connector Key). Make sure Ethernet fully clips into place.
- Attach the DC power extension cable to the cabinet PixlWav Hub on the DC Power Input jack (labeled 3 on Hub Connector Key).
- Ensure source switch on cabinet Hub board is set to ETH (labeled 2 on Hub Connector Key).
Install Backbox Lighting (BLACK/PURPLE)
LED channel Preparation and Backbox Installation Steps & Video -- Click to Expand
- Gather BLACK and PURPLE labeled parts.
- Mount LED strip in channel; place diffuser on top of channel, snapping into place. Add end cap to channel end.
Backbox Cabinet Lighting Installation Steps & Video
NOTE: MOUNTING PLACEMENT IS CRITICAL TO ENSURE ATTACHMENT TO METAL BACKBOX. CHANNEL EXTENDS ON TO WOOD CABINET AND IMPROPER MAGNET PLACEMENT which is made WILL RENDER MOUNT USELESS.
PLEASE VIEW VIDEO AND READ INSTRUCTIONS ENTIRELY PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF MAGNET MOUNTS.
- DUAL WIRE CHANNEL: Find plug end and mount first channel magnet bracket 8" from end of channel. Mount second channel magnet bracket at the end of the channel on the receptacle wire end.
- SINGLE WIRE CHANNEL: Mount channel magnet bracket at the end of the channel on the no wire end. Mount the second magnet bracket at least 8" from wire end of channel to ensure attachment to metal backbox.
- Attach JST wire extension to end of dual wire strip.
- Run wire extension through top of backbox (use topper wiring hole). Utilize wire clips as desired to keep wiring on backbox in place.
- Attach JST stub connector to end JST wire extension and plug into an open channel on the Backbox PixlWav Hub (mounted inside backbox) in the area labeled 7.
Install Under Cabinet lighting (PINK)
Under Cabinet Lighting Installation & Video-- Click to Expand
- Gather PINK labeled parts along with flathead and Philips screwdrivers.
- Repeat LED strip mounting steps for under cabinet channels outlined in previous step.
- Utilize Flathead screwdriver to open up one of the wire covered vents in the back base of the cabinet.
- Determine mounting preference for under the cabinet; 3M adhesive or screw mounted brackets are provided.
- Mount LED channel brackets or adhesive at outside cabinet edge and ~10" and 33" from back cabinet edge (see video chapter for visual details).
- Mount LED channel to cabinet with dual wire channel on left (player perspective) or right (under the game installation perspective). Connect channel wiring together using JST extension cable at end closest to player. Note: ensure dual wire channel is no less than 6" from back of cabinet.
- Utilize wire clips to hold wire in place under cabinet.
- Attach second JST wire extension to end of dual wire channel.
- Feed JST wire extension into cabinet.
- Attach JST stub connector to end JST wire extension and plug into an open channel on cabinet PixlWav Hub (mounted inside cabinet) in the area labeled 7.
