DANGER ELECTRICAL SHOCK
Pinball machines have high voltages which can cause DANGER TO LIFE AND LIMB. TURN POWER OFF and UNPLUG PINBALL MACHINE prior to installation. SAFETY GLASSES are recommended.

Please follow these safety instructions as well as all installation instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the pinball machine, accessory or other parts. When removing screws from the playfield, first turn them counter-clockwise to match the original groove to protect the playfield wood.

BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH INSTALLATION, UNPLUG POWER CORD FROM GAME.

The MEZEL MODS CLASSIC KIT is designed to operate 5V DC ONLY. Do not connect any components of this kit to another voltage; doing so is misuse and will cause permanent damage to system components.

Install the Power System – Spike 2 -- Click to Expand

1. Gather RED labeled parts and 11/32 nut driver.
2. Open backbox, locate Power Distribution board cover and remove.
3. Locate Dollar Bill validator connection (remove orange dummy plug if present). Attach PixlWav Power.
4. Attach the Digital LED controller to the power supply. LED Controller instructions are here.

Choose from one of the two LED channel installation options below.

Install the Power System – SVO+ and SVO -- Click to Expand

1. Gather RED labeled parts.
2. Locate the Service Outlet in your game (location varies by manufacturer).
3. Attach the PixlWav Power to the SVO using the wall plug power cord. If the SVO lacks a standard wall plug, use the Service Outlet adapter with the wall plug cord.

LED Channel Prep -- Click to Expand

1. Gather LED channel, LED strips and mounting material. If using magnetized mounts for backbox install, see written instructions in Backbox section.
2. Mount LED strip in channel; place diffuser on top, snapping into place. Add end cap.

Next install either as under-cabinet or backbox lighting.

Install Under Cabinet Lighting -- Click to Expand

NOTE: Instructions/measurements are based on a modern Stern standard body with vents in the back base of the cabinet. Adjust as needed for your game.

1. Gather BLUE labeled parts and flathead/Phillips screwdrivers.
2. Mount LED strip in channel; snap diffuser; add end cap. Repeat for both strips.
3. Open one wire-covered rear vent (location varies by era).
4. Choose mounting (3M adhesive or screw-mounted brackets).
5. Mount channel brackets/adhesive near outside cabinet edge at ~10" and 33" from back edge (see video).
6. Attach channel ensuring wire ends are ≤6" from cabinet end.
7. Attach splitter to each channel LED; attach JST wire extension and run wire inside cabinet.
8. Attach JST splitter to Digital LED controller; connect JST extension via splitter.

Install Backbox Lighting – Metal Backbox -- Click to Expand

NOTE: Measurements are specific to Stern metal backboards. Adjust for your backbox size.

MOUNTING PLACEMENT IS CRITICAL: channel extends onto wood cabinet; improper magnet placement will prevent attachment to the metal backbox.

PLEASE VIEW VIDEO AND READ INSTRUCTIONS ENTIRELY PRIOR TO INSTALLING MAGNET MOUNTS.

1. Mount first magnet bracket at the top end of the channel (wire end).
2. Mount second magnet bracket at least 6" from end of channel to ensure attachment to metal backbox.
3. Attach splitter to each channel LED; attach JST wire extension.
4. Run wire extension through top of backbox (topper wiring hole or vents). Use wire clips to tidy.
5. Attach second JST extension and feed into backbox.
6. Attach JST splitter to Digital LED controller; connect extension via splitter.
