When removing screws from the playfield, reinstall by first turning them counter-clockwise to match the original groove in order to respect the integrity of the playfield wood.
1. We will start by removing some plastics that are in our way. The plastics are 30, 31, and 39. The following pictures show 30, 39, and 31 respectively. Plastic 30 can be easier if you have a screwdriver with a 90 degree bend in it.
2. Remove the 4 screws in plastic 44. Be aware that there are spacers on the screws. Try not to lose these. We won't need them for the mod but its good save your hardware.
3. With plastic 44 removed, we will insert blinders into some holes. Insert the blinders into both the left and right most holes.
4. Next we will install the mount the mod hangs on. Be sure the screws are inserted in the correct orientation (see image 1). This will allow the mount to sit all the way up against the backboard. There are 2 mounts(left and right). The proper orientation for this is with the "V" slot facing outward (see image 2). The top screws should be screwed all the way. As you get to the last 1/4 it may get difficult, just keep screwing. With the lower screws, you can stop once you start to feel resistance.
5. With the mounts in place we can now slide the mod in from the top. The wiring will go to the left of the building between the backboard/playfield and cabinet.
6. With the mod in place, we will now insert the diffusers. One of these diffusers is not like the others. It is purposefully skewed. Identify this one first. It will go in the left most hole. The 'overhang' side will go to the 9 o'clock position. Push the other 2 'standard' diffusers into the remaining holes.
7. We're almost there! You'll now want to raise the playfield to the fully upright position. We need to identify the Global Illumination bulb in the lower left of the playfield. Remove this screw and insert the bulb provided with the small matrix connector on it. With the provided bulb installed, you will now connect the mod to the matrix connector. Ensure that the matrix reverser (the small lengths of wire between matrix connectors) is installed or the mod will not illuminate.
8. Carefully lower the playfield and reinstall plastics 30, 31, and 39.
