When removing screws from the playfield, reinstall by first turning them counter-clockwise to match the original groove in order to respect the integrity of the playfield wood.
The install instructions have been performed on a LE John Wick Pinball Machine, however the instructions are the same for both the PRO and PREM games. Some images have drawn circles/boxes in order to help understand what area you are looking for.
- Turn off game. Remove glass from playfield.
- Place the Pinball Cabinet Assembly Protectors on each side of the machine. Next remove the pinballs from the trough. Then lift the playfield into the upright position.
- Locate the Blood Oath target area, as this is the area you will be working on. The area has been circled in the image below for convenience.
- Unplug the two connectors, seen in the images below, that go to the blood oath marker.
- Next, remove the two Blood Oath target by removing the four wood screws (two for each target) that hold them in place. Place the wood screws in a secure location.
- Now locate the GI bulb next to the targets. Remove the wood screw that holds the GI bulb and holder into place. Place the wood screw in a secure location. Then remove the GI bulb from the socket. After removing the bulb from the socket, screw the socket back into place with the wood screw, as this GI is no longer used.
- Next, lower the playfield back down. Then either remove the two screws that hold plastic No.54 in place, or remove one of the screws and loosen the second screw. Place the screw(s) in a secure location.
- Now remove the two nuts that hold the Blood Oath Marker in place and place them in a secure location.
- Then remove the two nuts that hold plastic No.05 in place. Place these nuts plus the two washers that are on the ramp in a secure location.
- Next, Gently remove the Blood Oath Marker and place it in a secure location. This can be done by lifting the ramp and plastic up so that the connectors that hold the Blood Oath Marker can be lifted through the hole in Plastic No.05.
- Now remove Plastic No.05 and place it in a secure location.
- Remove the post that is closest to the target and place it in a secure location.
- Take the bracket and remove the paper for the tape and set the bracket over the hole for the post that was just removed.
- Now screw the post back into place. Note that production versions of this mod will have a longer strip than this photo.
- Place the 6" matrix wire on the end of the strip and put the wire through the hole as seen below.
- Place plastic No.05 back into place.
- Place the Blood Oath marker back into place, making sure the connectors go back underneath the playfield, then secure the nuts that hold the Blood Oath Marker and Plastic No.05 in place. Then reattach Plastic No.54 back into place by screwing the screw(s) that hold it back into place.
- Lift the playfield back into the upright position. Reconnect the two connectors for the Blood Oath marker back into place.
- Locate the wood screw on the far left of the playfield rail and unscrew it. Place the wood screw in a secure location.
- Attach the tape provided to the ILS board and place it in the game. Use the image to see where we recommend that it goes. Take the ILS bracket and place it on the long black wire and then secure it in place by screwing the wood screw used in step 19 back into place.
- Place the black wire running from the ILS under the Blood Oath lights. Use the image below to see where it goes.
- Connect the led strip to the ILS board by using the connector on the right side of the board.
-
Optional: Use the zip tie provided to connect the Blood Oath cables and the 6" matrix running to the ILS board together.
- Unscrew the GI bulb circled in the image below. Place the screw in a secure location. Remove the GI bulb from the socket. Take the 44 Red matrix bulb provided and place it into the socket. Then reattach the socket to the playfield using the wood screw that was removed.
- Connect the ILS board to the 44 red matrix bulb by connecting the 6" matrix wire to the bulb and then to the left hand side of the ILS board.
- Reattach the lower standup target to the playfield by using two of the wood screws from step 5. Make sure that the target has the 32 number on it, otherwise you will have flipped the drop targets from their proper location.
- Now reattach the upper standup target to the playfield using the remaining two wood screws from step 5.
- Installation finished! Enjoy your Blood Oath Target illumination. To adjust the brightness of the illumination, please see our guide on the ILS board.
