What's needed:
|
Remove the glass and lift the playfield up. Don't forget to secure the pinballs with something or remove them and use cabinet protectors (sold separately) to prevent any damage.
Find the spotlight cable and pinch the mini-fit to disconnect it.
Pull the spotlight cable through the playfield and lift the zip-tie up, then unscrew the post to remove the spotlight.
Grab the Ray Gun mod and untwist the twist-tie, then disconnect the JST halfway down the wire(this is not a necessary step but it makes the installation easier).
Pull the Mini-fit cable through the playfield through-hole and connect the new mini-fit to the original spotlight plug.
Set the playfield down but leave it out about 5 to 8 inches.
Pull the JST under the acrylic as shown below.
Unscrew the screw closest to the front of the playfield (might need to hold the post on the underside of the acrylic with pliers), grab the other half of the ray gun, and screw it on.
Re-connect the JST and feed the wire under the two acrylics.
Lift the playfield back up and gently pull the wire to the underside of the playfield.
Twist-tie or zip-tie (not included) the wire to one of the nearby wires, and enjoy your new spotlight.
