When removing screws from the playfield, reinstall by first turning them counter-clockwise to match the original groove in order to respect the integrity of the playfield wood.
Please note that this page is still under construction and will be completed soon.
Install difficulty: Easy
Tools needed: 1/4 nutdriver/wrench or flat head screwdriver.
- Turn off game. Remove glass from game and set in a safe and secure location.
- If you have gameblades/ art blades, Place the Pinball Cabinet Assembly Protectors on each side of the machine. Next remove the pinballs from the trough. Then lift the playfield into the upright position.
- Once the game is in the service position, locate the cave scoop. It is on the right side of the playfield. An image has been provided showing where the scoop is located.
- There are 5 flat head screws that hold the scoop in place. Using a flat head screwdriver, remove the screws and set them in a secure location.
- Once the scoop has been removed, use the tape to secure the LED board to the backside of the inner part of the scoop. An image has been provided showing how the LED board should look when done correctly.
- Place the scoop back into position. Once this is done, re-secure the five flat head screws from step two back into the screw holes. Make sure the scoop is not loose in the game.
- There is a #44 bulb next to the scoop. Unscrew the screw that holds that bulb holder in place and then remove the factory bulb. Then place the provided matrix bulb into the socket and re-secure the screw and bulb holder back into place. An image has been provided showing where the bulb is located.
- For those using an ILS board, we recommend placing it next to the Kong Cave insert and placing the light sensor in that insert. You can also use the Extra Ball or Mystery inserts as well. (image coming soon)
