DANGER ELECTRICAL SHOCK
Pinball machines have high voltages which can cause DANGER TO LIFE AND LIMB. TURN POWER OFF and UNPLUG PINBALL MACHINE prior to installation. Pinball machines are high voltage and can cause electrical shock.
SAFETY GLASSES are also recommended while working with or installing pinball parts.
Please follow these safety instructions as well as all installation instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the pinball machine, accessory or other parts. Please see our Disclaimer for associated risks and responsibilities (Section 13 in our Terms of Service) prior to installation.
Images included in these instructions are of an installed prototype and may vary from your product slightly.
If you have questions or concerns regarding the proper installation of this part, please contact us for assistance.
When removing screws from the playfield, reinstall by first turning them counter-clockwise to match the original groove in order to respect the integrity of the playfield wood.
Please note that this page is still under construction and will be completed soon.
Install difficulty: Medium
Tools needed: 1/4 nutdriver/wrench.
Prelude: This is one of the more odd ramp illumination we have come up with, but it’s for good reason. Unfortunately, due to the way the ramp is made, we have not found a simple way to get a light in the subway ramp for PREM/LE games. If we figure out a way to do it, it will be in a separate product [If such a product exists, it can be found in this section] However, we can add one to the Biplane ramp and the Skull Island exit.
The first section is for customers that have bought the MM-KONG-RAMP. The second section is for users that have the MM-KONG-RAMP-INTERACTIVE version.
MM-KONG-RAMP INSTRUCTIONS
- Turn off game. Remove glass from game and set in a safe and secure location.
- If you have gameblades/ art blades, Place the Pinball Cabinet Assembly Protectors on each side of the machine. Next remove the pinballs from the trough.
- Move the playfield so that it sits on the rails. We recommend playfield jacks for the first part of this ramp illumination, though it can be done without them.
- First the Skull island exit. There is a large metal bracket that covers the whole ramp assembly. On the left side of the large metal piece are two screws near the top. Remove the screws.
- Make sure that the small piece of tape is on the back of the LED board.
- Next, slide the LED board under the metal bracket. Make sure the tape is holding the LED board in place and make sure that the connection point is still visible. Then screw the screws removed in part 3 back into place.
- Next, for the biplane ramp, put the Medium piece of tape on the backside of the bracket, then place the bracket over the biplane ramp. The area is provided in the image below.
- Now, take Wiring Harness No.1. Using the 2 sides of the 2-way matrix splitter, plug both sides into the LED board and the 6SMD light. One side is shorter than the other, and we recommend plugging the shorter side into the LED board and using the longer side for the 6SMD light.
- Now, remove the playfield from the playfield jacks and then lift the playfield up into the service position.
- Locate the #44 bulb circled in the image below. Unscrew the screw holding the bulb holder into place and then remove the factory #44 bulb. Then replace it with the #44 matrix bulb we provide. Finally screw the bulb holder back into place.
- Done!

- For the ILS board. While it can be set to any insert in the general vicinity of the biplane ramp, we recommend placing the light sensor in the climb insert or the insert directly to the left of it (in fact this is the one we think should be used). [An image has been provided showing how the light sensor should be used. (coming soon)]
