When removing screws from the playfield, reinstall by first turning them counter-clockwise to match the original groove in order to respect the integrity of the playfield wood.
- You'll need access to the back of the game or topper; open the backbox, and pull out the playfield enough to get access to the backboard.
- Remove the factory search light with a 5/16" nut driver; save the nuts for later
- Place the search lights onto the factory search light bolts. Rotate the base so the front outer corners lock onto bolts/nuts indicated by arrows.
- Tilt the search light forward and screw the nuts from step 2 back on the bolts. Note: on the base, there's a little "L"; you can see it on the back end of the base (closest to the camera / towards the bottom of the picture). This search light goes on the left side of the topper when standing in the front of the game; the right side if you're behind the game. The other search light will not have an "L" or an "R" goes on the other side.
-
Feed the wire between the back and side acrylics; also look for the cap (circled in blue)
-
From the front of the backbox, reach up through the backbox topper hole and pop out the topper's hole cap.
-
Back behind the game, undo the twist tie, and get the 2-wire matrix wire and feed the end through the holes.
- Pull the wire all the way through; recommend feeding the wire through the factory cable management
- Feed the wire through the backbox into the cabinet. Replace one of the backboards GI with our matrix GI; feed the wire over top the backboard.
9b. This is where you can add the interactive light add-on
9c. Disconnect the wires near the GI (on one matrix connector) and plug the addon inline
9d. Then place the light sensor near your desired trigger light, I'll add more details soon - Back behind the game, unplug the 3-wire servo wire from the com board, and feed the wire through the hole just like before.
- Plug the servo wire back into the com board on the other side; make sure to match the pinout with the decal, and pull the wire slack
-
Recommend using the factory cable management again, and you can use the same cable management bolt to secure the com board in the backbox
- Plug the power tap in; there's more info on that here - https://mezelmods.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360008889373-Spike-2-3-Power-Adapter
- Take the power-in wire from the com board; again, use the factory cable management. Then plug the com board power-in into the power tap
